What stays on your device

All of the following is stored locally, in the app's own private storage, and is never transmitted anywhere:

• Sounds you record, including the audio files themselves.
• Which sounds are in your mix and the level each one is set to.
• Your settings: the sleep timer, the moon phase, and whether the scene animates or reacts to sound.
• A small diagnostic file of battery readings, described below.

None of it is backed up to a server by the app. If you have iCloud Backup switched on for your device, your device backup is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us.

The microphone

Shwssh asks for microphone access only so you can record your own sounds. Recording happens only while you are holding the record button down. The result is written to your device and appears in your library alongside the built-in sounds. It is never uploaded, never analysed, and never shared with anyone. Deleting a recording in the app deletes its audio file too.

Diagnostics

The app keeps a small text file of battery level readings so that battery use can be looked into if you report a problem with it. It contains battery percentages, how long the app has been running, and what the animated scene was doing. It contains nothing that identifies you or your device beyond the iOS version and app version, it stays on your device, and it is only ever sent if you deliberately tap Send the battery log in Settings and choose where to send it.

No third parties

There are no advertising networks, no analytics providers, no crash reporting services, and no social or tracking software development kits in this app. No data is sold or shared, because none is gathered in the first place. Nothing is used for tracking as the App Store defines it.

Children

Shwssh is made for parents and carers of small children and is intended to be operated by an adult. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete from any server.

Your control

Delete an individual recording by swiping it away in My Sounds. Revoke microphone access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Shwssh. Deleting the app removes everything it has stored, permanently and completely.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date above. If a future version of the app ever collects anything, that will be said here plainly and before it happens.
