Privacy policy
Alarmed collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and the app makes no network connections of any kind. Every photo it sees and everything it saves stays on your device.
Last updated 2 October 2026.
What stays on your device
All of the following is stored locally, in the app's own private storage, and is never transmitted anywhere:
- Your alarms: their times, days, labels and which mission each one uses.
- Reference photos you take for a "My spot" mission.
- Your wake-up history: when each alarm was beaten, how long it took, which objects you photographed and the badges you've earned. It powers your streak, stats, sticker book and trophies.
- Your settings: which household objects are switched on, how strictly spots are matched and an optional parent code.
None of it is backed up to a server by the app. If you have iCloud Backup switched on for your device, your device backup is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us.
The camera
Alarmed asks for camera access so you can take the photo that turns an alarm off, and so you can photograph a spot when you set one up. A wake-up photo is checked on your device by Apple's built-in image recognition and then discarded. It is not saved to your photo library, not uploaded and not shared with anyone. Reference photos for a spot are kept in the app until you delete that alarm or remove the photo.
Alarms
Alarmed asks permission to schedule alarms so they can ring through Silent mode and Focus. The alarms are scheduled with iOS on your device. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.
Widgets
The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read your next alarm and streak from storage the app shares with its own widgets on your device. That data does not leave the device.
No third parties
There are no advertising networks, no analytics providers, no crash reporting services and no social or tracking software development kits in this app. No data is sold or shared, because none is gathered in the first place. Nothing is used for tracking as the App Store defines it.
Children
Alarmed is suitable for all ages and is often set up by a parent for a child. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to request, correct or delete from any server.
Your control
Delete an alarm by swiping it away, which also deletes its reference photos. Revoke camera or alarm access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Alarmed. Deleting the app removes everything it has stored, permanently and completely.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date above. If a future version of the app ever collects anything, that will be said here plainly and before it happens.
